Closed source and proprietary format. I'm not convinced their routing algorithms are that intelligent either. Stuff based on SIP is the way forward IMO, ie open standards and cross platform. Though I'll readily admit we need better Linux clients for it; none of the current ones are polished enough. I see Linspire are working on phonegaim, which might help fill the gap.
