Linux Expo2000 was last Thursday and Friday, Laurie, Mark, Brett, and Lauries friend Andrew? plus me were there. The show itself was alright. SGI had some nice machines running Quake III. Unfortunately most freebees were gone in the afternoon when I arrived :-( Alan Cox gave an enlightening talk about where the kernel is and where it is going and more stuff like that really.
I was one the Debian stand on Thursday. Bought a T-shirt. Did you see the penguin made of ice on the SGI stand? That was cool ;-) They were pouring vodka through it.
There was a free bar Thursday evening, paid for by Linux Format, to try and get Debian to buy some advertising. I got rather drunk before making my way on the underground back to Liverpool Street. Although, I must say that I do not think Debian will be buying any advertising in Linux Format, what with having no budget.
