Apart from open source software which for projects of any size is always developed (and therefore sourceable) by a number of people distributed around the world.
This statement is only true about "open source software" if you mean that in the OSI sense, in which case it is somewhat clearer to say "Free Software". Once explained (ie free as in freedom, not necessarily as in price), that doesn't really have the double meaning that curses the other term.
