OK clever peeps, I'm tearing my hair out at the mo. I have an 80 pin
LVD SCSI HD and a pci LVD SCSI card that has 68 pin and 50 pin interfaces. I have a 68pin terminated cable.
I know you can get 80 pin to 68 pin converters, but it seems to have
female connectors on both sides. Does this mean I'll need an 80 pin male-to-male connector?
i.e. is it actually possible to put an 80 pin SCA-2 HD in a normal pc?
From what I remember SCA-2 needs a single cable that has both the data
and the power leads, which would normally be provided inside a hot-swap drive case.
So not sure if there would be any suitable converters for attaching to 68pin cable.
We always had to send them back to the supplier as the salesman who sold it didn't know the difference.
David.
