Sadly, the 2200 is sufficiently old as to use a serial cable. I just use it with a USB <-> Serial adaptor and NUT (for mostly sentimental reasons, having contributed a minute amount of code to it.)
The vendor confirmed to me that it was a straight USB cable. A few minor tweaks to the existing self-documented config file, restart daemon and bob's your uncle
