Thanks for the information I am now getting some where, already I am begining to get Linux to impress.
Http is running i checked with lynx, so I know its working, I just dont seem to have external access, I only have 8Mb to play with so X is not practical.

UUEAS (the Student Union at UEA) have been running a pair of 486s for some time, one of which is visible to Windows. You need the samba package to allow the Windows boxes to see its disks, and smbclient or smbmount to see the NT disks.
HTTP shouldn't be a problem. Have you a webserver (httpd) installed, configured and running?
UUEAS have recently added a K6/2 to our collection from www.dnuk.com.
