I'm currently working onsite at a client and I need to be able to connect my Linux laptop to their printer. Unfortunately it's a Windows share and the printer name contains spaces - which Samba absolutely refuses to connect to. I've Googled around on this but can't find a workaround. Changing the printer name is absolutely out of the question. Are there any experts here who have any tips to try in this situation?
Samba can deal with spaces, or certainly used to be able to. //machinename/"share name" IIRC, but it might be "//machinename/share name".
Printing via samba is an evil business though, so good luck. If you're using cups, you should be able to just point it at the samba printer, throw it the right driver and all should be well.
Thanks,
