Oh that was a Doh! moment. I had forgotten that last time I powered down the Fujitsu I had suspended to disk not completely shutdown. A proper reboot cured it and I now have both interfaces. Amazing though that after a suspend from disk the new card actually worked ! BTW (shameless plug) If anybody wants to do a similar upgrade or has an empty miniPCI slot (and the antenna) in their laptop then I can get these cards (and the 2200) at very reasonable money. Lots of laptops have the slot and the antenna, pretty much anything made in the last 2-3 years. The only machines which I know to be a problem are Thinkpads, which really need an IBM card (the Bios tries to disable anything else)
