I glad you discovered this before it caused any serious inconvenience when it inevitably failed in some catastrophic way.
I only hope your supplier hasn't sold too many of those kits, or their repair centre could be seeing a few dead machines.
BTW, If you want quiet then rather than fitting a silencing kit look at the WD Fluid bearing drives...I have one in a machine here and it is very very quiet, even when it is doing something.
