All in all I'm pleased with it. It'd be better if there was a UK or even EU supplier, it's $200 US but with delivery and VAT came to £286 here. Still a bargain for a lightweight 14" laptop though.
Interesting and thank you, but it sounds like a lot of fuss. Might as well install Linux on a s/h Macbook Air. Which is what I did (Mint 19). Except I couldn't get the sleep function to work, either, and put macOS back on it. At least there's kind-of a Unix system hiding away in there. I'm past all this faffing about with stuff that Doesn't Work Properly.
