So, what is it with scanners?
The newer ScanJet just goes 'Tump' and 'is not responding.
The old ScanJet works mechanically, but there's an I/O error.
The Primax Colorado triggers the riposte: 'No devices available'.
Before I commit felo de se or look for a big 'ammer, I might try another USB lead. The scanners have USB1 connections and the flaptop USB2 - could that be a problem?
