Seems to work relatively well, and makes life a lot easier if you know you won't have time to watch something in the timeframe alloted on the site.
...or if you don't have Ruby installed, but do have Perl, then you can try get_iplayer.pl from http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer/ now including a web interface that makes it trivial to use and allows you to schedule PVR recordings overnight (good for me because my bandwidth is free from 00:00 to 08:00).
