Hmm I have had that a few times with the built in Gnome burning....k3b however has been good to me over the years even if it does need a million KDE libraries installed.
That's the one, but it isn't alone: I tried another flavour of writer and that did the same thing. Installed Nero and that did the job with no hassle.
Since then, the Gnomish one has worked several times.
I'll mention the matter to PM, who is a Debian Developer.
