The fax side works perfectly for both sending and receiving and has done so for some time. I've never had any trouble with it.
The mgetty ???s sounds a bit like it's trying to start PPP on you.
Why would it do that? Could I prevent it?
No idea, sadly. I've never played with mgetty.
The MGetty documentation hasn't given me any clues either.
