Hi everybody,
Hi Chris,
I don't post that much from here in lonely Lynn but I just thought I'd let you know about a little Xmas success story that occurred this year.
Cool, sorry for the delay for your mail to hit the list, this was caused because you sent as a text/html mail, and the list defaults to only accepting text/plain (with not html in sight!), hence a moderator (in this case, me) had to approve it.
You might remember me mentioning my 83 year old mother who unknowingly uses Ubuntu for her computing needs (and incidentally now wouldn't be without her Android tablet).
Cool :)
Well, cash being tight, I decided to take a chance with a present for my 3 year old nice by putting Qimo for kids on a 10 year old laptop and see what happened.
Incase other people have useless google skills (like, they can't type Qimo in to a search engine...):

Needless to say it was a great success. I received a text from her mum on boxing day, telling me she thought the present was "a stroke of genius" as Ellie hasn't stopped playing with her 'pooter' since and won't be parted from it.
Yay!
So a big thank you to the wonderful Linux community for the fantastic work that you all do for making one little girl's Xmas so special.
ISTR that there's someone one list that does stuff for debian-edu, I'm sure they'll be glad to hear their work is appreciated :)
Happy New Year to you all.
Happy New Year,
