I guess if you've tried another file manager, then the next logical thing is to try another card in the same tablet. Or to try with a OTG cable and a USB stick.
To test for duds, I have used f3probe on a USB stick, and did find one large stick bought on ebay was a complete dud. Took a very long time to run, but I got a refund in consequence.
If you don't have a card slot, you can get on ebay or amazon small adaptors to convert a card to a usb stick, very useful if you don't have a card slot in your PC and that will let you run f3 on the card on the PC.
