If you want to make it harder for someone to sabotage the boot process you could also set a password of the BIOS settings, if you BIOS supports this.
This is an excellent idea, and one I've been implementing for a few years now. But be advised, that it is possible to erase the passwords (and other settings) within Linux, by calling a certain ioctl() on /dev/nvram ;)
