Can anybody see any earthly reason why the same setting is not valid?

I've fiddled about in a haystack and come out with a needle.
For the records, here is a conf that works beautifully:
Note how I had to comment out a bunch of modes for the second monitor
that are ok for the first, and narrow the horizsync.
Brett on irc said something about the card not being able to drive
them both at the same time, and so the clock speed varies on the two
outputs.
