While I am just after a calendering system at the moment, anythingt that offers more features than that wouldn't be a problem.
I have PHP and a MySQL database to spare, so that's no problem.
I have been using Horde's various utilities for a while (as installed by the sysadmin where my Web pages are hosted) and it seems pretty stable and reliable. Horde has a calendar which seems OK though I haven't used it seriously.
