Hi Laurie:
This came from Mint 'Update' service and when I tried to instal it I got msg as listed.
I haven't come across "Broken filter" previously, so hence my present fix as I am unable to instal this kernel update unless I locate/fix/remove '3 broken packages'.
I'd be happy to carry on with present kernel installed, but probably this is not the correct 'option' going forward!
Thanks for your help.
Michael
Kernel management is mostly transparent in LMC, and you don't need to worry about it. That said, the error you're seeing is relatively common, and probably not related to the kernel update anyway.
Assuming you're comfortable working at CLI, try this:
sudo apt-get -f install
After that, refresh and check update manager again and see what it wants to update.
If that doesn't work, shout!
Cheers, Laurie.
PS. In case you don't know, LMC is based on Ubuntu and often searching for a solution for Ubuntu can help find the fix.
