Hi, Has anyone any experience of Linux certification. I started looking at Linux+ by compTIA, but couldn't find anyone running courses / exams in Norfolk.
Looking at certification again, LPI (www.lpi.org) seems to be the best way to go, and the exams can be sat in a office on Prince of Wales Road.
I'd be interested in any experiences / recommendations etc.
Many thanks.
Stuart.
I'd never give any money to any of those shysters running certification courses. It's a 100% complete waste of money. No-one's interested in what bits of paper you have. They're interested in what experience you have (or at least they should be).
In my area of expertise I've come across people who claim to be Sun Java Certified who couldn't code their way out of a paper bag. Then there's the ubiquitous MCSE...
Of course, if you want to go waste your money on something no-one else cares about, it's your prerogative.
Lifted from the LPI website - "LPI acknowledges and insists that certification is not a reasonable substitute for references, interviews, or experience."
