Hi, can I pick your brains on this one? That time has come round again and I have to move someone to a new machine. What is the best way of doing it?
Any suggestions gratefully received.
I don't know about the "best" way, but a while back I swapped out the motherboard/cpu/ram/graphics card underneath my then install of Debian Lenny. As I recall, the only the only thing I had to manually configure were the graphics drivers, because I had to move from the open source Radeon drivers over to the proprietary Nvidia binaries. As soon as I did that X booted again and all was hunkidory. That said, I find a periodic reinstall of the OS cleans out the cobwebs so you might find this a good excuse to do that anyway ... Peter.
