You use the word "server" here. If you mean server as in web server, file server, print server... then these are all things that will be used by the geeks themselves - people who will perhaps find their productivity slowed rather than quickened by a GUI interface. That's exactly what I meant. A server needs a gui like a fish needs a bicycle: it's just an overhead that wastes resources, and many server-based tasks (well, the set-up for a combination of tools) are too complex for a gui to help without it being horribly complex. In fact, I wonder if it's possible at all in some circumstances.
Desktops are a different matter entirely, and I think a GUI positively helps there.
