One of the most useful aspects of using Linux is the copious amounts of error logging that goes on. Many problems encountered can be solved by consulting log files and googling from there. I am by no means a Linux expert but have managed to deal with most things thrown at me by my evil penguin overlord during the last decade using this tactic

Are there any good books or websites you can recommend. I know you are all here to answer my questions, but I would like to read up and really get my teeth into it.
Linux In A Nutshell?
Personally I don't rate that book as it is more of a command reference than explaining why stuff is....but if you want a copy Simon then the Alug library has the most recent revision, if you can make it to a meet or pass by Bury St Edmunds then you can pick it up.
As to the other comments...it's mostly familiarity. The partitioner in the Windows installer is just as complicated really and then you aren't trying to set up dual boot. There is a learning curve but it's no more steep than going from say Mac to Windows IMO.
Keep with it and it will all make perfect sense soon :)
