Worth a try Slax: if you like kde, this is the fastest kde you'll find, but not all the apps, though you can add them, but then it will slow a bit. Vector: also kde, and also slackware based, worth trying Debian minimal + fluxbox. More work, but its probably almost as fast as the slackware derivatives, and much more flexible. As someone says, if the essential thing is speed, get used to Fluxbox and doing without Gnome or KDE. Peter
