- I know this sounds a bit windows-like, but you could try
doing an upgrade install
What's that?
When you boot and start the installer you have the choice of 'install' or 'upgrade' - the 'upgrade' option will sometimes do a better job of detecting new hardware and installing whatever packages are required than happens if you use the Mandrake Control Centre and, since very little is being installed, it is a very quick process.
