Hmm, OK thanks for the pointer - as you say not as clean as I was hoping for.
Looks like the cable I just ordered off eBay isn't going to be any use to me unless there is a way to get my chosen* Linux box to output analogue over the HDMI port.
*Or, to be more accurate, as yet unchosen...
Of course you could insist on a HDMI capable TV at each station and get the full benefit of that HDMI connector :)
That crossed my mind too. Not sure whether I would be able to achieve synchronised video streams over Ethernet though?
