I've just put in a second harddrive (40GB) in my box (running Sarge on a (badly) customised 2.6.10 kernel). I deleted all the old partitions using fdisk and created a single new 40GB one (actually 39.something according to the partition table), but when mounted 'df' reports it as only 17GB. If I create two partitions of roughly 20GB each then 'df' reports the disk size correctly.
Can anyone suggest what the problem is please?
Also, during my googles about this I kept seeing pages stating that the maximum drive size in linux is 138GB. Was I just looking at old webpages or is that still the case in the latest kernels?
