Why not use the flexible wiki at http://www.alug.org.uk/contrib/ ?
One simple reason. I had no idea it existed.
Ever read http://www.alug.org.uk/ ?
MJ,
I'm not continuing a non-constructive thread which is verging on pointless bickering, so this is my last word on the subject.
The release of the Phpwiki you refer to which - intentionally or not - has only four entries, has just turned SIX years old, this month. It's no surprise at all that it's spammed to oblivion and is not being used effectively. It seems you acknowledge it's total lack of features and how it's not even possible to upload a screenshot or a photo, let alone anything more complex, so I don't quite understand why you're so resistant to a request to bring it up to date. Wikis have come a long, long way since Xmas 2000 (they're no longer called WikiWikiWebs for a start!) and they're used effectively by a LOT of the community groups out there. Thae same clearly cannot be said for the current "Contrib" section of the ALUG site.
Suffice to say, I've had an email off-list which sounds hopeful that we'll be able to get something useful to work with, in the not-too-distant future.
Given this is our main requirement at the moment, I have no problems benching an Ipswich-specific brand idea, when that arrives.
Cheers,
Peter.
