Palm development isn't too hard. "coldsync" will run easily and efficiently and "m68k-palmos-coff.tools-990108-linux-x86-glibc" is available from the usual place, so I guess you just have to make sure you can hook the cradle up to it (does yours have a USB cradle? Can you get USB<->Serial converters? I don't know about such things ;-) )
