So, pointers please to setting a LUG up
With the help of a few people, I've written http://www.alug.org.uk/articles/2003/howtomeet.html which may help. There's probably more ideas lurking in the site, waiting to be catalogued. I'd very happily add a "Chelmsford" location page to the ALUG site as a first step, if you tell me what needs to be on it (hint: crib from another page!). Then, meetings pages can appear.
Is it time to have main@ for a technical questions list and then other smaller lists named things like norwich, chelmsford and fenland if people want them to help get meetings together? (Maybe Ipswich-area people will announce themselves as wanting to have a meeting soon, so need a list?)
I'm going to go check the lists are properly pruned. Pass the cutters.
offers of advice or help for the summer event
Will the charity event tie in with an http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/ installfest? I guess we need to get ALUG ready for that anyway.

I'd stick to Morphix for hand-outs at first: there are several versions built on a common base, so you don't have to debug too many variations to get the basics working for them. It's also committed to being totally free software, I hear, which is always good.
