I've bought a LP107T from August International Ltd pointing device and I'm running Linux Mint.
When I plug the device in, the buttons that should move my Libre Office slides actually just move the mouse from left to right. Is there a Linux configuration setting I can adjust to fix this?

Do you know which driver it is using?
It might say in /var/log/Xorg.0.log and then you can look up in man what Options the driver supports and set them in /etc/X11/xorg.conf rather than letting autodetect try to figure it out (and getting it wrong by the sounds of it). Look for lines that mention mouse or "Adding input device".
