The trouble is I wasn't sure which modem option to choose during installation so I chose none, so I'm wondering if I can still install the modem now or if I'll need to re-install Redmond. The modem is Intel 56K HaM Data Fax Voice Modem I don't know what any of that means; I found out about it by checking (Windows was previously installed on the box it's in).If I can sort that out I be able to get the software I need and get started. Thanks for any help and sorry for asking such basic questions, Will
It's a Winmodem. You're in luck though. http://www.linmodems.org reports that there are drivers for Intel HaM chips. Winmodems are not always easy to get up and running (they are the onboard type that are specifically designed for Windows) though it is possible. External modems are always the best, so if you can't get it to work, get an external modem. Good luck.
Oh yeah, welcome aboard - even though I only joined the list last week.
