I use mine to control my audio collection on a small Linux box connected to my hi-fi system. Java programs at each end communicate over wifi and present a full GUI album/track/playlist display wherever I am in the house. A bit over the top, maybe for a remote control, but usually impresses visitors. If anyone's interested I can supply the software.
