I have my company hosting set up at gradwell.net and my home machine has a CNAME entry in the isbd.net zone file so that home.isbd.net points at my home machine. Is this what's causing the oddity? Why does it only happen in browsers though?
Just a guess, but have you checked that the: * http_proxy environment variable is unset * firefox/browsers are not set to go through a proxy
Nothing like that as far as I can see, I've never used proxies and the environment seems pretty normal.
