I can't fault my Dell Latitude (runs Mandrake/RedHat like a dream). For aro und 1.5kGBP will get you 650Mhz PIII Latitude with modest spec. Dell's Inspi ron range goes up to PIII 750Mhz, 128Mb, 25Gb, 15.4" TFT... drool.
Cheers, BJ

Hullo
I am thinking of getting a new laptop, now that everything becomes so INconvinient ever after I left the UK - and miss my lovely Siemens Nixdoft computer. (Tokyo sucks!)
My question: which one's the best? Give your wishful thinking please.
List of my considerations:
- Main use is "web development" and "Palm Development"
- Might need to use both "client" and "server" dually. Maybe enough to run JavaBean and Servlet (argh).
- Require Windows - preferably better if Windows run in Linux (using VMWare, for example)
- No DVD necessary
- Size doesn't matter, and I really don't care.
- Available companies: All Japanese companies you can come
up with + Compaq + Dell + Gateway.
