Hi I have a Canon BJC1000 running under Suse 9.1, this printer has worked O.K. on all Suse distros since Suse 7.0 (and other distros) However on Suse 9.1 the pages are being printed in "half width" A4. Have I overlooked anything obvious? Regards Nick Daniels

The BJC 1000's highest resolution is odd. The dpi is twice as high in one direction as the other. The gimp-print drivers usually do the right thing, but occasionally a buggy version appears which doesn't work with odd resolutions like 720x1440 (or whatever it is) so you're stuck at 720x720 (or so) until you upgrade.
I sold my BJC 1000 after getting a Samsung ML-4500, so I can't test or tell you exact settings. They're good printers which can survive some maltreatment (like being fed metal - don't try this at home) and the cartridges were very refillable.
Hope that's some use,
