Hi Folks
Sorry for OT but there are not many other informed people I can consult!
Q: What's happened to BBC News 24 on-line??
Until the end of last week I could find it on the BBC News website http://news.bbc.co.uk and indeed had it running for extended periods keeping a "background" ear on the news about air travel etc.
Yesterday and today I can't find a direct link. The alleged "BBC News 24 Home Page" at
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/bbc_news_24/default.stm
is simply blank, and while you can find the schedule listing (with link to above "Home Page") at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcnews24/listings/ index.shtml?service_id=4352&day=today
[all one line], there's no link to watch it on-line.
Anyone know what's happening?
With thanks, Ted.

Looks like the provided links are all up and running - Indeed, I see our venerable .gov continues to make a pig's ear out of a silk purse...
Regards, Paul.

Don't be surprised -- you are very honourable people!

Not sure I understand the reply, at least where News 24 is concerned (I can follow the ".gov" bit fine ... ).
On http://news.bbc.co.uk as I recall, you could find a "News 24" button which would bring up a player, and then you could leave it running and getting rolling news bulletins for as long as you wanted to leave it on. This was certinly working up to last Friday, but doesn't seem to be there any more.
On the "News 24 listings" home page
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcnews24/listings/ index.shtml?service_id=4352&day=today
there is a link on the left to "BBC News 24 Home Page" at
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/bbc_news_24/default.stm
which (apart from a column of options on the left) is blank on my firefox browser (though on an old mozilla browser it takes me back to the main news.bbc.co.uk as above).
While there's a button top right which says "Watch BBC News in Video", his puts you into a menu of news items to watch one by one -- not the rolling news described above!
For what it's worth, while I had it on last Friday afternoon it came to a halt, with text on a red background which said "End of Broadcast".
I'm wondering if it's been discontiunued?
Thanks, Ted.
