It looks rather like that's a software "modem" and the only drivers I can see are those from Intel for 2.4.x, same as you. It looks like you'll need to make the "big jump" from 2.2.x to 2.4.x kernel. There are some other packages you'll need to update at the same time, so you may be best off getting a later version of RH and doing a full upgrade.

Maybe see you tomorrow at ALUG? I'm sure someone could bring a RedHat CD if you ask...
