SCO are suing IBM for breach of contract and not copyright theft so who owns the copyright to UNIX System V isn't in question here.
If I were competing with a virtually free product that I believed contained my source code I would be a bit miffed too. I think SCO's problem is that they have a problem with IBM but made it look like the whole Linux community is guilty by association.
I do find it interesting that hardware companies like IBM, Sun, and SGI all embrace Linux but why wouldn't they? They still charge for their hardware. I'm sure Ford, Toyota and Vauxhall wouldn't complain if petrol was virtually free but Texaco, Shell and BP might.
