Microsoft has had support for Unix services in the past too. I think it is too early to say how much heat transfer there has been from Hell to Microsoft's Linux support department, but I'm sure it is not enough to cause any crystalisation of water at 15psi. Yet!

Microsoft might have to do that, since couple of giant companies still implements UNIX-a-like system. If they can do that, I imagine they could accerelate implementing Microsoft Server OS quicker than CEO of Microsoft thinks of. (I know, many companies like to develop stuff with Microsoft's Visual Studio)
Nevertheless there's good about Unix and Linux. You still can customize further than what Windows can. It runs faster, and good security too.
And I don't think Microsoft can culminate further on server systems yet. I hear couple of glitches with server OS itself. Above all it's campaigning boys.
