can anyone recommend any user/group management tools? Preferably using gtk/gnome, and available in .deb ;)
(I've always used the deadrat one beforehand)

I thought there were in gnome-admin, but they don't seem to be. DirectoryAdmin will help if you're using LDAP, but I'm not sure what other than vipw and vigr there is for the /etc files. http://diradmin.open-it.org/index.php

Oh, I was assuming you knew about {user,group}{add,del,mod}.
