First of all, my apologies since this question is not directly related to linux. Can anyone tell me if there are any ADSL, cable or other broadband services in or near to Norwich?
(Currently in France, moving to Norwich area in April - anyone knowing of a decent 3/4 bed house w/ garden to rent please contact)
TIA and second set of apologies for the spam, promise it won't happen again. But you never know...

I think realistically the only option currently available is with an ISP capable of BT Surftime under ISDN (2x64Kb channels) under BT Home Highway.
I'm certainly not aware that BT have upgraded exchanges within the Norwich area for ADSL roll-out as yet. Mind you, the majority of ADSL ISPs are providing the USB Alcatel SpeedTouch "modem" for which a driver doesn't exist as yet (although there are promises on the Alcatel website that there will be such a driver available for download next month - the driver's open source but the firmware will be distributed as a binary).
NTL (the cable company formally known as Cable and Wireless) are supposed to be rolling out digital TV (and I would presume cable modems in the process), but I've certainly not received any such news from them this year.
Not a lot of options - yet :(
Regards,
Martyn

I on the other hand, have. My digital TV *should* be installed on the 20th of March, providing they don't screw up. Hopefully cable modems will follow a month or so after...
