Is there a one day course available on Linux/Unix for beginners, anywhere in an arc drawn using Halesworth as a centre and taking in Norwich and Ipswich?
I have specified a one day course as I find that following a whole day awake I have to spend the next in bed, (or at least asleep for most of the day).
I am finding that due to my intake of painkillers I seem to lack the self-discipline to learn on my own. I have a tendency to go on to the Internet for information, follow the links, wander of down some obscure by-way, and when BT cuts me off after 2 hours, find I spent the entire time reading stuff which may or may not be useful, but which did catch my interest. Such are the benefits of very early retirement.

Au contraire, this is actually just the effect the web has. It's an attention pit, which sucks you in one minute and spits you out hours later with nothing useful to show for it.
I am a confessed net addict, which means a) I'm getting better at Just Saying No <moan>, and b) browsing through a modem has a similar effect to water torture.</moan>
