Hi
I am running Xubuntu and the other night the menu bar at the top and bottom disappeared. I can get them to return via typing 'xfce4-panel' into terminal. After pressing enter, typing 'disown' is supposed to make it stay there when you close terminal which is did last night.
However, on reboot it was missing again and now I cannot get the 'disown' thing to work so whenever I close terminal both the bars disappear again.
I've got 39 updates waiting to be installed, so I will install them and see if that resolves the problem.
Can anyone think of how to resolve this if these updates don't make any difference.
Someone suggested right clicking on the area, but it does nothing except bring the contextual menu up, the same as anywhere else on the desktop.
