I don't suppose this is anywhere near the mark, is it? (Way off knowing me, but I'm trying to be helpful before drinking sufficient black sweet coffee to get brain cells stirring in any kind of coherent fashion.)(We should all be hibernating anyway; ridiculous idea, getting up and going out at this time of year).

Thanks Jenny... a DIY kit, unfortunately time lines don't allow me to gain the minimum skills required.
Me and my big mouth at work got me into this, we are currently using Lotus for our Corporate mail solution, and we were looking for a commercial solution (well a value add freebie for our customers), so I talked them into a Linux solution selling it on the Open Source nature, costs, modularity etc... Anyway, work now what to see it's capabilities and have tasked me with it, so I'm up against some big names like Lotus to put togther a mail/messaging/PIM for around 10k users. In a meeting yesterday, I was told by the powers that be that if we do go down the Linux/open source route they will be putting in around 3000 developers hours into improvements, enhancments and new projects, then release them into the open source community which I thought wasn't too bad of them. But I need to get something together to show them it can be done with minimal fuss, low cost, low upkeep/administration and scalability (not too difficult when Lotus have made a bid of $1.2m to do this...
Living in hope
