Im having a problem installing red hat 9 and suse 8.2 on my desktop computer as both crash out in installation, the system i use is an intel PIII 750 with 128mb ram and 40GB hard drive when red hat starts to install to the hard drive it and displays the message "abnormal install error -- signal 11 sent" and in SuSE also at the start of installation it displays the error message "XFree86 - man - 4.3.0 - 15 ERROR (instTarget:some subprocessesfailed) -?- Any suggestions any one? Not really. I'm just guessing, but I'd start by checking the hardware compatibility lists for those two distributions and temporarily disconnecting anything that isn't, if possible. If all your hardware is supported, move on to running memtest86 (to check the RAM for errors) and making sure your CPU fan is still working properly. I've seen both of those cause signal 11 trouble in the past, but if your CPU fan had problems, you'd probably know it already.
Failing that, both of those come with support if you bought them, which is another possible thing to try. If you didn't, both have online web forums that can help, or maybe some ALUGger has seen this exact problem before and will tell us the solution.
