Ok I'm getting all confused now!

Just asked around the place and there is no WINS server on our network.

Should there be? I think I need to lie down.

I did as recomended and set up my smb.conf with the share details.

I think I stopped and then restarted smb but I'm not sure. (GOD I'M RAW AT ALL THIS)

going to call it a night and get back on the horse tomorrow with a fresher brain.
