OK, so to wake up the list a bit, here's a nice simple question.
I have a Slackware 9.1 system running and would like to install the (brand new!) Slackware 10.0 as well. The hard disk has a 30Gb partition with 9.1 on it and 30Gb spare on which I can install the new 10.0.
So far so good.
Installing the Slackware 10.0 should be fairly straightforward I think, I haven't had any big problems with previous versions.
However I'm not quite sure how I get the boot menu to present me with the alternative versions. Can anyone give me any guidance. Will I have a problem because of the second (new, 10.0) version being beyond cylinder 1024 or whatever the limitation is?
Hi.

Install grub or lilo, and come back if you have any problems. Many installers will set this up for you, but I've never used Slackware so I don't know. Hint: it's a good idea to put /boot on its own separate partition or things can get confusing.

Shouldn't think so, haven't seen any of those kind of problems for a long time. Maybe if you have an ancient bios or something.
Good luck,
Joe

I already use lilo as I have a little MS-DOS 6.22 partition that I can boot.

So it's just a matter of adding the new installation to the lilo configuration, that sounds quite easy. (I said it was a simple question!).
