Hi
With the next version of Ubuntu schedule for release in April and it should include Gnome 3.
Gnome 3 was supposed to be released in Sept 2010 and included in10.10, but it got put back to Mar 2011 and is being included in 11.04.
Does anyone know what system requirements it will need. The latter versions of Gnome 2 required less memory and hardware than previous versions and where better suited for older machines, but what about Gnome 3.

Without the aid of a crystal ball... or perhaps a tardis... I don't think it's actually possible to work out the system requirements for something that's not yet been released...
The only way to find out would be to run the code from the current git release - and I don't know of anyone that's currently doing that (personally, I run awesome, and don't use half of the GNOME system, the concessions at the moment are that I use gvfs for mounting samba drives and using gnome-power-manager, but I think that's actually causing me more issues than saving me problems).
So, *is* anyone out there running the new GNOME 3 with GNOME Shell?
Cheers,
